Nugget Pizza Review

Nugget Market has been operating since 1926, offering its customers exceptional grocery experiences. On their shelves, you won’t find just different vegetables and fruits but also signature meals and picnic packs, sandwiches, coffees, and juices.

One of the reasons why so many people flock to Nugget Market is their personal pizzas. They can provide you with fresh-baked personal pizza at their locations in Novato, Corte Madera, Davis, Sacramento, and Woodland. There is an overwhelming number of varieties, from cheese, pepperoni, and specialty Hawaiian pizzas to Margherita and artichoke pesto pizzas.

Each customer has an opportunity to choose their favorite dish based on the available toppings. Their recipes are simple, but with the number of different ingredients makes their pizzas quite appetizing. You can even experiment with seasonal, sweet, and breakfast pizzas that are completely authentic.

Is Nugget Pizza for You?

With many types of pizza on their menu, it is quite difficult not to find a variety that would be the best for you. Meat lovers can opt for pepperoni, prosciutto, and sausage pizzas, while vegetarians can choose Mozzarella & Red Onion with Preserved Lemon or Roasted Eggplant & Parmesan.

Enthusiasts who want to try authentic recipes that are not featured on the menus of popular pizza chains such as Papa John’s, Domino’s, and Pizza Hut will be delighted with the menu at Nugget Market.

They use top-tier ingredients that are incredibly flavorful. The selection of cheeses, such as fresh mozzarella, goat cheese, parmesan, and blue cheese, is impressive. The taste of the pizzas is taken to the next level with the savory red sauce that they pride themselves on the most.

Another great aspect that attracts customers is the garlic parmesan dip on the Garlic Cheese pizza. It is different from other dips available at other stores, which makes the pizza delicious. Pizza lovers would appreciate the good preparation and combination of ingredients in each dish. All of their personal pizzas are available at a reasonable price of $8.99 plus tax.

What We Like About Nugget Pizza

The best varieties of Nugget pizza that I had the chance to try are classic Pepperoni, Prosciutto & Ricotta, as well as Mozzarella & Red Onion With Preserved Lemon. Upon first ordering, I was expecting the pizzas to have the same type of crust but with only additional ingredients on top. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the taste of each pizza was unique.

The Pepperoni pizza has fresh, gooey, and savory mozzarella cheese. The creaminess and sweetness of the mozzarella work well in combination with zesty pepperoni. The crust is crunchy and thin, but it isn’t dry. The best aspect of this pizza is the juicy mozzarella and tomato sauce that stand out as the highlights of the recipe.

Mozzarella & Red Onion With Preserved Lemon had something special that cannot be encountered usually at other pizzerias. The preserved lemon that is acidic and sweet paired with chili flakes created an authentic flavor. It isn’t overpowering since the sweet crust and sauce dull down the piquant flavor.

Additionally, the meat toppings they have on each pizza are high-quality. From prosciutto and speck to sausages for pizzas, the tasty toppings are generously placed on top of the mouth-watering cheese. They add much-needed meatiness and saltiness to the pies. The quality of preparation and ingredients is mirrored in the affordable price.

What We Don’t Like About Nugget Pizza

The main disadvantage of the fresh-baked Nugget pizzas is the fact that it is available to order only in select locations. You cannot get a hold of their tasty pies until you go to their stores in places such as Corte Madera, Davis, Sacramento, and Novato.

What is more, it might be disappointing for pizza lovers who love to customize their pizzas with toppings such as chicken, pork, BBQ sauce, and jalapenos. The market has focused more on adding vegetables and various kinds of cheeses from their store into the recipes, hence the large number of pizzas with artichoke hearts, eggplants, tomatoes, and pineapple.

The ingredient that is present in each pizza is the savory red sauce. It works better with varieties such as Roasted Eggplant & Parmesan, and Three Cheese than with Sausage & Fennel. In some recipes, it seems like the sauce adds the sweetness and acidic taste that alters the flavor of other toppings. It seems like other pizzas would benefit better from the garlic parmesan dip.

Final Breakdown

The main positive aspect that contributes to the tastiness of the Nugget pizzas is the intention to create something new and unique. The market found a way to make its pizzas stand out from other pizzerias even though it doesn’t specialize in preparing piping hot pies.

The unusual toppings such as artichokes, eggplants, and lemon in combination with goat cheese make pizzas worth it. Their quality of ingredients and careful preparation qualifies them as some of the best types of pizzas and not simply quick snacks on the go. The only disadvantage is the fact that they are not available in many locations.

The Nugget pizza has everything that specialty pizzas require, and that is high-quality toppings, a combination of new ingredients, tasty and thin crust, as well as fresh herbs. Customers will not only quench their hunger but also enjoy an authentic and appetizing dish.
